The covid-19 crisis has affected the way thousands of people can access or afford the food they need, for a great variety reasons beyond their control.
We are only one organisation among many in Sheffield, helping hundreds of people with extra food. Unfortunately we believe that an economic recession is very likely, which will affect even more people.
The wider story of food poverty is not making the headlines, however it is important to make the links between the challenges people are facing across the country. This article by John Harris starts to put our work in context:
We have delivered food to 504 households, with a total of 996 people.
We have over 50 volunteers helping us to pack and deliver the Food Boxes. Many are new, having been furloughed.
